Bournemouth targets Arsenal’s £50 million-rated player. Eddie Nketiah as Dominic Solanke’s replacement

Bournemouth are interested in signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, talkSPORT understands.

Nketiah has been made available to Premier League clubs after Marseille dropped out of the running to recruit him.

Bournemouth’s initial offer for Porto’s Brazilian striker Evanilson has been rejected as they look for a replacement for Dominic Solanke.

Solanke completed a club-record move to Tottenham over the weekend, with the transaction potentially worth £65 million.

Solanke’s departure has left a significant gap at the Vitality Stadium, having scored 19 goals for the Cherries previous season.

As a result, Bournemouth is hunting for a prolific striker to lead their attack this season.

Nketiah faces an uncertain future in north London after falling down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.

The 25-year-old is an Arsenal youth graduate who has established himself as a first-team player with 168 appearances for the club.

Despite his struggles to establish himself in the first squad, the 25-year-old has 38 Arsenal goals, 19 of which have come in the Premier League.

According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Arsenal are looking for a value of around £50 million to sell the striker, a figure that Simon Jordan disagrees with.

Jordan responded to the £50 million amount by saying, “Ultimately, if you want £40 million, you’re better off asking for £50 million.”

“But, is he worth £50 million? You must be joking, right?

“It’s one thing to pay for old rope, but this… you’re going too far.

“He’s not a £50m footballer, I mean, he’s lucky to be a £30m footballer and on £100,000-a-week!”

Nketiah made his Arsenal debut in a Europa League encounter in September 2017 and scored his first goal for the club the following month. He has also spent time on loan at Leeds, although his career highlights include scoring twice for Arsenal in a 3-2 victory over Manchester United in 2023.

Signing a new centre-forward is thought to be one of Arsenal’s top goals this summer.
