The Commandant, National Protection School, Samuel Alade, says the Nigerian military has started making strides towards the assembling of military equipment.
Mr. Alade, a Back Chief of naval operations, said this in Abuja on Thursday while tending to columnists after he drove the Course 24 of the school on a visit to VP Yemi Osinbajo at the State House.
As per him, the Guard Business Organization of Nigeria (DICON) in Kaduna was being fortified to create arms while the military modern complex will deliver substantial military hardware.
“We have a foundation that was set up fundamentally to create generation of equipment.
“That is the Safeguard Business Company, which is situated at Kaduna.
“That foundation is being reinforced; I trust that in the new agreement a ton of things will begin happening.
“At this very moment, they create rifles and some other equipment.
“In any case, I can guarantee you that we have begun.
“Just as of late we had a safeguard collaboration workshop with South Africa and that workshop was held at the Protection School and that is the starting.
“We need to build up our military modern complex and inside that system we will have the capacity to fabricate equipment and even the product also.”
In August 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari had guided the Service of Guard to outline an arrangement for the foundation of a military modern complex for neighborhood generation of weapons.
He gave the mandate at the graduation Obviously 23 of the National Barrier School in Abuja.
Mr. Buhari had said that such weapons, when created, would meet a portion of the necessities of the nation’s military.
