Zlatan and Pogba let their fans down in the game with missed chances.
A week after winning the EFL Cup, Manchester United missed the chance to enter the top four of England’s Premier League following a dramatic 1-1 draw at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.
A win for the Red Devils would have put them in fourth ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool, both of whom meet later today.
And they looked set to do just that when Marcos Rojo put United in front after 23 minutes.
But Joshua King drew Bournemouth level in the 40th minute, only to see team-mate Andrew Surman controversially sent off in the 45th minute.
In a heated closing minute of the first half, United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was stamped on by Tyrone Mings, who in turn got elbowed by Zlatan moments later.
However, it was Surman who got sent off by referee Kevin Friend, a decision that didn’t go down well with the away team.
Nonetheless, Bournemouth held firm to leave Old Trafford with a valuable point, with Boruc saving a second half penalty from Zlatan before watching Pogba fire a clear chance wide in stoppage time.
The result leaves Man. United in sixth place on 49 points, behind fifth placed Liverpool on goal difference and a point behind fourth placed Arsenal.
