The Red Devils, who arrive back in England on Friday, were held to a 1-1 draw by Rostov in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie on Thursday in Russia.
Even though the Premier League club has a busy schedule in the upcoming days, Mourinho has ensured the fans and warned his opponent that he will be playing his strongest team on Monday night.
“Monday we don’t go with a Nicky Butt team,” Mourinho insisted, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
“Manchester United is too big, it is the winner of the competition. It is not Chelsea’s fault that we were given this Monday match so we have to make changes for sure because we play Monday and Rostov play Sunday, but we can’t go to Stamford Bridge with a Nicky Butt team.”
Former Red Devil midfielder Nicky Butt is now the head of the youth academy at Manchester United, he also coaches the reserve side at the club.
United travel to Stamford on Monday, play Rostov at Old Trafford on Thursday and then travel to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough next Sunday.
