Some 394 migrants were urgently rescued from an overcrowded poor wooden boat in the Mediterranean Sea on Sunday.
The Sea-Watch 3 and Ocean Viking, owned by German and French NGOs, evacuated the migrants in Tunisian waters, 42 miles from the North African coast.
There was no word about injuries among the migrants.
At the time of being rescued, the migrant’s ship was taking in water, Reuters reported.
Boats carrying migrants departing from Libya and Tunisia and heading to Italy and other parts of Europe have increased in recent months.
According to the International Organization for Migration, more than 1,100 people fleeing Africa and the Middle East have drowned in the Mediterranean this year.
The migrants were mainly men from Morocco, Bangladesh, Egypt and Syria.
