Noni Madueke apologized for referring to Wolverhampton after scoring a hat-trick for Chelsea.

Chelsea forward was continually booed at Molineux after his Instagram’mistake’ prompted to ire among home supporters.

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke apologised for criticizing Wolverhampton before scoring three goals in 18 minutes to secure Enzo Maresca’s first league win.

Madueke received a rude reception at Molineux following a controversial social media post that said “everything about this place is s—” and tagged his location as Wolverhampton, which was then quickly deleted.

The 22-year-old explained that the post was supposed to be made from a private account rather than his public one, but he was jeered by Wolves fans throughout the afternoon. Nonetheless, he responded impressively, scoring three goals in the second half to lead Chelsea to a thumping victory.

After the game, Madueke said, “I’d like to apologize to anyone I may have offended; it was simply a human error.”

“It was an accident; it was not supposed to be posted on my social media in that manner; I’m sure Wolverhampton is a great place; I apologize.

“I expected boos, but that’s part of the game. I’m made up for the hat-trick, but more so for the fact that we won the game.”

Maresca confessed he would “trust” his players to behave on their social media accounts and stated that Madueke has had an instant influence since his appointment.

Madueke also scored in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League play-off victory over Servette on Thursday night, and he took the match ball home following the defeat of Wolves.

“I didn’t know about Noni’s post before the match but I can judge him on the pitch as fantastic,” Maresca told the crowd.

“He was always generating something, and I’ve maintained since day one that he’s the type of winger I enjoy.

“It wasn’t just his goals but the way he defended, that mentality is what I’m demanding from the players.”

Madueke also praised his teammate Cole Palmer, who, together with attacker Nicholas Jackson and new signing Joao Felix, scored six goals. “It is unbelievable,” he added of Palmer, who set up all three Madueke goals and scored his own in a remarkable 18-minute period either side of halftime.

“He’s cold, and I’m fire, so it works perfectly. He can always play a pass at the perfect time. I enjoy getting the ball into space, beating people, and making things happen, and today it worked.”
