According to sources, West Ham United are close to signing one of PSG’s star midfielders.

As previously reported by NationalWorld, West Ham United is interested in signing PSG midfielder Carlos Soler. With the transfer window closing soon, the Hammers are stepping up their efforts to recruit the Spaniard.

According to French daily L’Equipe, Julen Lopetegui’s side is in “advanced talks” with the Parisian club, with the French champions seeking to fetch £17 million for their star. It comes after West Ham spent the summer strengthening their starting lineup, signing defenders Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo, as well as German attacker Niclas Fullkrug.

Soler joined PSG in 2022 for roughly £15 million, but has spent the past year on the bench under boss Luis Enrique, who has also frozen out Manchester United target Manuel Ugarte.

Loïc Tanzi, writing for L’Equipe, stated that only English teams can clearly place themselves. Brighton and West Ham have been competing for some weeks, but the Hammers have recently returned to the race.”

Soler traveled to Spain over the weekend to witness Valencia play Barcelona.
